The show about nothing helped propel Curb Your Enthusiasm to a big something Sunday night.
The first episode of the highly anticipated Seinfeld reunion arc on co-creator Larry David's HBO comedy brought in Curb's biggest ratings in over five years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The episode, which featured all four Seinfeld cast members together on TV for the first time since the show's 1998 finale, brought in 1.6 million viewers at 9/8c. Combined with the viewers for the episode's same-night rerun one hour later, the show's total escalates to 2.6 million, the Reporter said.
The episode marks Curb's highest ratings since March 2004.
The seventh season premiered on Sept. 20 to the tune of 1.9 million viewers for both showings, the trade paper reports.

Ratings: Emmys Numbers Bounce Back
They weren't quite legendary, but the early ratings for the Neil Patrick Harris-hosted 61st Primetime Emmys show marked improvement from a year ago.
The three-hour telecast drew 13.3 million viewers, a 9 percent increase over the 2008 awards, which was the least-watched Emmys broadcast since 1990. Host and producer Harris earned almost universal praise for keeping the show lively and on-time, a stark difference from the show's five-host format a year ago.
The night's overall winner was NBC's coverage of the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys NFL game. The game, which unveiled the new $1.2 billion Cowboys' Stadium, was watched by 22.4 million viewers and earned the highest overnight rating for a prime-time football game in 11 years.
Among Fox's animated repeats, Family Guy and The Simpsons performed best with 5.5 million viewers each in their respective timeslots. ABC's airing of King Kong earned only 3.9 million viewers overall.

Ratings: Did Kanye's Apology Help Boost Leno's Numbers?
The Jay Leno Show debuted with strong numbers, perhaps because the show featured the week's most talked-about celebrity: rapper Kanye West.
After two online apologies, West made apologized again on Leno's show for interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Leno asked him what his late mother would have thought of the incident.
"Obviously, I deal with hurt, so many celebs, they don't take the time off; I've never taken the time off," West said. "I'm ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt. ... If there's anything I can do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I want to."
NBC's 10 p.m. talk show pulled in 17.7 million total viewers and a 5.1 Nielsen rating in the key demos. The demo rating was 34 percent higher than the debut of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien in June and 50 percent higher than Leno's Tonight Show finale. It also handily beat a repeat of CBS' CSI: Miami (6 million viwers) and Dreamgirls on ABC (4.3 million viwers).
While NBC executives are pleased with the numbers, they expect the nightly average to dip once other networks launch their fall schedules. "The fact that it opened so well is a great sign, but it's only one night," NBC CEO Jeff Zucker told The Hollywood Reporter. "There's a very long way to go from here. We'll judge this on 52 weeks, not one night."

Ratings: Jackson Memorial Draws 31 Million TV Viewers, Millions More Online
Michael Jackson's memorial service on Tuesday drew 31.1 million total viewers across 18 broadcast and cable networks tallied by Nielsen.
Princess Diana's September 1997 funeral (which began at 6 am/ET), by comparison, drew 33.25 million viewers, while former President Ronald Reagan's June 2004 funeral (a midday service) had an audience of 20.8 million.
Check out photos of musicians who've died too young
As far as other daytime TV ratings milestones go, the November 1981 wedding of General Hospital's Luke and Laura was attended by 30 million viewers.
TV viewership only tells a fraction of the Jackson memorial story, however. The event also accounted for tens of millions of live streams online - 32 million alone from just MSNBC.com, ABCNews.com and FoxNews.com.
AEG, which produced the Staples Center event, estimates that all told, some 1 billion people worldwide watched the service in some manner. Such a grand total, however, perhaps never can be verified.
During Tuesday's prime-time hours, four different network newsmagazine specials — ABC's 20/20 and Primetime, CBS' 48 Hours Mystery, and NBC's Dateline — combined to deliver 26.2 million total viewers. By comparison, prime-time coverage of Reagan's burial drew 35 million viewers.

Ratings: One Week Into Battle, Dave Tops Conan's Tonight Show
On their seventh day of head-to-head competition, David Letterman's Late Show squeaked past Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show, though by a slim margin — one half of a rating point.
Still, Letterman's latest performance represents a 13 percent week-to-week gain, while Conan has dropped 42 percent since his Tonight Show debut.
The Tonight Show's numbers, in fact, have declined every night since O'Brien seized the reins on June 1. To be fair, on Tuesday night he was hampered by soft lead-in numbers courtesy of NBC's NHL coverage.
Letterman's guests for Tuesday were Julia Roberts (who told her host, "You are so much funnier than other people who talk at this time of the evening") and the Black Eyed Peas, while O'Brien welcomed Eddie Murphy, The Office's Angela Kinsey and Bonnie Raitt.
The last time Dave topped The Tonight Show was on consecutive nights in mid-October 2008, with guests John McCain and Tina Fey.
Elsewhere on Tuesday:
• ABC's coverage of the NBA Finals averaged 9.6 mil, while NBC's NHL Stanley Cup broadcast scored 5.45 mil. Both sporting events got beat by CBS repeats of NCIS and The Mentalist (the non-jock in me must point out).
• Fox's Mental — featuring a dialogue-free guest-star turn by David Carradine — delivered 4.83 million total viewers, dipping 210K.
Wednesday Ratings: Is I'm a Celebrity Suffering a Lack of Speidi Bite?
• For the first time in three weeks of head-to-head competition, Fox's So You Think You Can Dance toppled ABC's (special double dose of) Wipeout, 8.7 million total viewers to 8.42 mil.
• I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!, now sans drama magnets Spencer and Heidi Pratt, welcomed 4.6 mil to the jungle. That's a drop of 600K from the survivors' last outing, and the show is now off a full 28 percent from its season premiere.
• At 10 pm/ET, the penultimate episode of ABC's The Unusuals drew 4.67 million viewers, placing third behind CSI: NY and Law & Order repeats.
Thursday Ratings: Think You Can Dancers Get Hotter

10 pm
Episode 3 of NBC's The Listener (4.4 mil) plunged 17 percent, placing a distant third behind basketball and a Mentalist repeat. USA Network's Royal Pains matched its premiere audience of 5.6 million and became the cabler's first scripted series to grow its demos in Week 2.

8 pm/ET
An audience of 10.43 million total viewers looked on as The Amazing Race crossed its latest finish line. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition followed with 8.2 mil (slipping 11 percent week-to-week). The three(!)-hour Celebrity Apprentice finale averaged 8.73 mil (on par with last week) but surged in the 10 o'clock hour to... well, you'll see what it accomplished a few seconds later in this story.
9 pm
Desperate Housewives' penultimate episode of the season drew 12.13 mil, plunging 10 percent from last week. In second, Cold Case concluded its sixth cycle before an audience of 11.78 mil, dipping 680K.
10 pm
The final hour of the Apprentice finale played to 10.24 million viewers, besting the season enders for both The Unit (9.66 mil, down 300K) and Brothers & Sisters (8.84 mil, down 270K). That hissing sound you hear is the Donald's ego re-inflating.
Monday Ratings for the House and Big Bang Finales, and More
8 pm/ET
Dancing with the Stars averaged 18.3 million total viewers over its two-hour run, down 10 percent week-to-week. The House season finale placed second in the hour with 12.33 million, gaining 200K. Or so we think. (Who can be sure of anything anymore?) CBS' Big Bang Theory wrapped up its second season with 9.8 mil (its biggest audience since April 13), while lead-out How I Met Your Mother (8.7 mil) slipped 200 thou. Gossip Girl (2.33 mil) inched up 100K.

Medium's back-to-back episodes this time around averaged 6.77 mil, down 450K. One Tree Hill matched last week's 2.28 mil. (An aside: OTH recapper Robyn Ross, who is screening the season finale today, just IM'd me to say, "It rocks!" Crave elaboration? Email Mega Buzz.)
10 pm
CSI: Miami topped the hour with an audience of 13.37 million (down 360K), while ABC's Castle closed the book on its freshman run with another increase — 550K — to deliver 10.55 mil. Does anyone else smell a renewal...?
Tuesday Ratings: Here's the Skinny on the Biggest Loser Finale
8 pm/ET
American Idol's Top 3 performed for 21.79 million total viewers, dipping 7 percent week-to-week. NCIS netted second for the hour, with 15.78 mil (down 6 percent). The Biggest Loser packed 'em in, averaging 11.76 mil over its bloated three-hour finale. That's a 29 percent surge from last week, and NBC's best Tuesday-night demo delivery, excluding the Olympics, since Dec. 6, 2005. Trailing ABC's According to Jims, Reaper inched up a bit to flirt with 2 mil.
9 pm
The Mentalist topped the hour with 16.11 mil, down 570K, followed by Dancing with the Stars' results show (13.75 mil, down 810 thou). Boosted by some (seemingly unavoidable) Idol overrun, the Fringe finale drew 11.22 mil (up 21 percent week-to-week). But to keep things in perspective, Fringe finished the hour with an audience of 8.9 mil. 90210 dialed up 2.05 mil, up 210K.

Without a Trace (13.43 mil) was No. 1 in total viewers, surging 14 percent, while Biggest Loser (13.18 mil for the hour) dominated the demos. ABC's Cupid closer targeted 5.5 mil, up 7 percent. Maybe we'll get a second reboot in another 10 years?

Prison Break's final farewell drew 3.33 mil, up 10 percent, while The Game blew the whistle on its own season with 1.86 mil. (And yes, that episode was a taste of how the show would work as a single-camera, hour-long dramedy.)
9 pm
NBC's Farrah's Story doc averaged 8.94 million viewers over its two-hour run, and topped the 9 o'clock hour. Flashpoint followed with 8.42 mil.
10 pm

Saturday
Saturday Night Live, hosted by Will Ferrell and featuring musical guest Green Day, matched the show's year-ago closer to equal its best overnight rating for a season finale in four years. The last SNL finale to rate higher was the May 21, 2005 telecast hosted by Lindsay Lohan.

The three(!)-hour Celebrity Apprentice finale averaged 8.73 mil (on par with last week) but surged in the 10 o'clock hour to... well, you'll see what it accomplished a few seconds later in this story.

8 pm/ET
Dancing with the Stars averaged 18.3 million total viewers over its two-hour run, down 10 percent week-to-week. The House season finale placed second in the hour with 12.33 million, gaining 200K. Gossip Girl (2.33 mil) inched up 100K.

10 pm
CSI: Miami topped the hour with an audience of 13.37 million (down 360K), while ABC's Castle closed the book on its freshman run with another increase — 550K — to deliver 10.55 mil. Does anyone else smell a renewal...?

That's a 29 percent surge from last week, and NBC's best Tuesday-night demo delivery, excluding the Olympics, since Dec. 6, 2005. Trailing ABC's According to Jims, Reaper inched up a bit to flirt with 2 mil.
9 pm
The Mentalist topped the hour with 16.11 mil, down 570K, followed by Dancing with the Stars' results show (13.75 mil, down 810 thou).
